BECi serves as a call center for co-op members devastated by Hurricane Ida

Damage to the communication infrastructure in SELA has been extensive. Cell phone service is spotty and landlines have been rendered virtually unusable. BECi's customer service department has stepped up to provide assistance to South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Association - SLECA members. Calls to SLECA will be redirected to the BECi office and our customer service representatives will serve as a temporary call center for SLECA members.
During Hurricane Laura, Central Electric Membership Corp in North

Carolina assisted us when our phone systems were down. We are happy to pay it forward to our neighbors, friends and colleagues in Southeast Louisiana.
SLECA was not the only electric cooperative in SELA to be devastated by the hurricane - we are also assisting in any way possible to our other sister cooperatives - Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative, Inc. who serves co-op members in Franklinton and the area north of New Orleans, and DEMCO who serves the Baton Rouge, Greenwell Springs and Central area.
