BECi sends assistance to SELA co-ops after Hurricane Ida

BECi employees left our office in the early morning hours headed to our sister co-op, South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Association - SLECA located in Houma, LA. SLECA was one of the areas hardest hit by Ida.
The SLECA office sustained extensive roof damage and flooding. Our employees are headed south with a trailer full of tarps, building materials and generators. Through Walmart Deridder's generous donation our trailers are also loaded with water, cleaning supplies, toiletries and snacks for SLECA employees.
BECi Safety and Training Coordinator Eddie Hanks has packed his bag and will be assisting the safety coordinator at SLECA. Eddie will be helping to onboard and give safety briefing to the thousands of linemen who have already begun arriving in Southeast Louisiana to assist in outage restoration.
Continue to keep all of our co-op employees, linemen, first responders, residents and officials of Southeast Louisiana in your thoughts and prayers as they begin the very long road to recovery. #SELAStrong #LouisianaStrong #HurricaneIda
