BECi Announces Winners of Essay Contest

US Capitol BuildingBeauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BECi), announces the top 10 winners of the 2021 Beauregard Electric Cooperative Youth Tour Essay Contest. Students entered the contest by writing an essay describing how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their lives. According to the anonymous judge, who has served as judge for the contest for many years, “this year’s essays are perhaps the strongest set I’ve read.”

Under normal circumstances, the winners would receive a trip to Washington, D.C. to attend NRECA’s Youth Leadership Tour. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 tour was cancelled. In lieu of the trip, the top four winners will receive a cash prize. The winners of the contest are as follows:

  • Isabella Dimaggio – Rosepine High School
  • Erin Hidalgo – Sulphur High School
  • Gabriella Rivera – Rosepine High School
