Beauregard Electric announces the winners of the Electric Cooperative
Youth Tour Essay Contest

DeRidder, LA – Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BECi) announced Friday the top four winners of the 2009 Beauregard Electric Cooperative Youth Tour contest. The winners will join other Louisiana high school students for a training session during the Leadership Conference to be held March 25-27 in Baton Rouge where they will form and operate mock cooperatives, tour the "Big Cajun II" power plant in New Roads and spend an afternoon touring the State Capitol.

In June, the students return to Baton Rouge and then travel to Washington, D.C. where they will join over 1,500 students from 36 states. While in Washington, they will visit the offices of Louisiana's representatives and senators, the U.S. Capitol, the Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery and other historical and government sites.

BECi received 144 entries and awarded the top four the Washington, D.C. trip. Listed below in ranking order are the top 14 students:
