DeRidder, LA –– As of 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008, Beauregard Electric has restored power to all but 8,079 of its more than 38,000 members who lost electric service during Hurricane Ike. At the height of the storm, more than 27,000 members experienced a power outage due to high winds, downed trees, limbs and utility lines. Along with local and contract crews, BECi will be assisted by electric cooperative crews from Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee to restore power to the remaining members.
