DeRidder, LA –– As of 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, Beauregard Electric has restored power to all but 3,053 of its more than 38,000 members who lost electric service during Hurricane Gustav. At the height of the storm, more than 15,000 members experienced a power outage due to high winds, downed trees, limbs and utility lines.
The following outages are reported:
- Allen Parish 1,100
- Beauregard Parish 250
- Calcasieu Parish 200
- Evangeline Parish 53
- Rapides Parish 750
- Vernon Parish 700
- Total Outages 3,053
Additional crews from Texas and Louisiana rolled into the electric cooperative yesterday and today to assist with restoration efforts. BECi anticipates there will be members that will remain without power throughout the night.
