Beauregard Electric crews work to restore power
Thanksgiving eve storm knocks out power to hundreds

DeRidder, LA -- Thanksgiving eve’s devastating storm knocked out power to several hundred of BECi’s members. The heaviest damage was reported south and east of DeRidder on Hwy. 394 and Hwy. 26. Approximately 730 members were without power for about an hour at midnight with the remaining 500 members receiving power throughout the night and morning. Downed lines and poles were reported in those areas.

“While the outages were scattered throughout the DeRidder area, our crews worked during the night and will continue into Thanksgiving day to restore power to our members,” said Kay Fox, BECi’s communications/media specialist. “At 2:30 p.m., we had power restored to all but approximately 50 members where the worst damage was reported. Our thoughts are with our neighbors who lost homes and we will continue to work with each individual to get power back on as quickly as possible. However, some will need electrical service work in their homes completed before BECi can restore power to them.”
