Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BECi)
reports outages in service area

DeRidder - Late Monday night's thunderstorms roared through the BECi territory causing scattered outages to several thousand customers.

Power has been restored to more than 4,000 customers since midnight, but outages have been reported throughout BECi's seven-parish service area particularly in Beauregard and Allen Parish. The storm caused major damage utility lines in Singer, Longville Lake, Sugartown, Fairview and Dry Creek. Crews are continuing to work to restore power to the remaining 2,500 customers. BECi anticipates the majority of outages to be restored by late evening; however, because of the intensity of damage, some customers may remain without power throughout the night.

Customers who are still experiencing outages should call 1-888-367-0275 (outage response system) or 1-800-367-0275 to be certain their outage has been reported. If you see any downed power lines, remember to stay away from the area and report the problem immediately.
