This program is designed to bill an amount equal to the monthly average and avoid the seasonal variations electric bills. It does not reduce the total annual billing, but will smooth out the monthly variations and help customers fit the electric bill in your monthly budget.

Will BECi continue to read my meter each month?

Yes

 

Will my bill be the same amount each month?

Yes. The bill will be the same amount for 11 months. On the 12th month, you will settle the account to a zero balance. The account will then be set up for the next year with a new average.

 

If the billed amount is the same each month, how will I know the actual electric usage each month?

Even though you will pay the same dollar amount each month, the monthly statement will identify the actual energy usage in kwh and dollars.

 

How do I qualify?

This program is available to all BECi residential members with at least a twelve month history at his/her present location.

 

Can I terminate participation at any time?

Yes. You may return to normal billing at any time. Should you choose to do so, any outstanding balance must be paid. Any credit balance will be applied to the next billing period.

 

Can I have both Billing and Bank Drafts?

Yes, it is an excellent idea to use this combination.
