Bank Drafts
This service, provided in cooperation with your local bank, is a convenient method of paying your electric bill. With your authorization, the exact amount needed is automatically withdrawn from your bank account each month and credited to your BECi electric bill.
FAQ
- Why would I want to pay my bill with a bank draft?
- This service will eliminate the time and expense of postage and
mailing. It would eliminate a trip to one of our offices or paystations
if you pay in person. Busy people on the go and retired people who
travel find this service convenient.
-
- How do I know the amount of the check or how much electricity
I used?
- You will continue to receive a statement just as all members get
each month. The statement has the amount of the draft, the energy used
for the month, and a notation of the bank draft payment. Your bank
statement will also report the amount of all drafts.
-
- When are the funds drawn out of my account?
- The draft will be drawn on the due date shown on the bill. If date
falls on a weekend or holiday, the draft will be scheduled on the first
preceding business day. For example, if the due date is on Saturday
or Sunday the draft will take place on Friday.
-
- Are there qualifications and how do I get started?
- You must have a bank account that allows drafts. Forms can be obtained
from any of the three BECi offices. BECi must receive the customer¹s
completed form and voided check. Once the account has a zero balance,
the account will coded as bank draft.
-
- Can you draft my credit card instead of my bank account?
- Yes. Complete the same form as referenced in the prior question
with the necessary information. BECi will make electric bill payment
with the credit card each month as if you had come into the office.
-
- Can I use a bank outside the BECi service area?
- Yes, arrangements can be made with banks anywhere in the United
States.
-
- Can I have both Budget Billing and Bank
Drafts?
- Yes, it is an excellent idea to use this combination. It will minimize
the monthly variation in the bank drafts.
